Recently, Venlo Sport Crusaders Basketball entered into a partnership with ‘Alleen Jij Bepaalt Wie Je Bent’ (AJB), a nationwide social sports programme, aimed at providing equal opportunities to young people through sports (basketball/baseball/football).
The programme revolves around personal growth and self-development. By participating in training sessions, young people work for two years on important values such as behaviour, discipline, teamwork and respect. They also receive guidance to discover their talents and set goals, both inside and outside the sport.
The AJB Basketball project was launched in Venlo with the cooperation of Venlo schools and the Municipality of Venlo, and with support from the Ministry of Justice and Security and the European Union. The AJB Basketball programme is provided in Venlo by ‘old’ friend, Randolph Keyner. He has now started with a first group.
If you want to know more about this project, check out the website www.alleenjijbepaalt.nl or take a look at a training session on Monday or Wednesday from 16.00-17.30 in sports hall Egerbos.
