Vacancies
Basketball Crusaders Venlo has been running on the enthusiastic efforts of volunteers for over forty years. Players who whistle or judge, parents who judge or drive, members who train and/or coach teams, members with specific association tasks (games, referees, publicity, events, sponsorship, etc.) and people who run this great club.
We are always looking for people to do their part as volunteers, board members or coaches.
(Youth)Trainers
You will assist with or lead the practices and/or games for our (youth) teams.
Basketball is a popular sport. We have a waiting list and are actively seeking (youth) coaches.
Are you, or do you know someone, with little to a lot of experience who would like to help out?
With a competitive youth team, or perhaps with recreational or senior players, as a head coach or an assistant?
We’d love to hear from you. Please contact us at: info@venlosportcrusaders.nl.
members of the competition and referees committee
Thanks to the efforts of our Competition and Referee Committee, our members
are able to play matches.
In summary
The committee handles the scheduling of our home matches and
manages any changes to the schedule. It oversees the training and (re)scheduling of
referees and judges. The committee also plays a key role in communicating with members, the municipality,
and the NBB regarding these matters.
The committee members divide tasks among themselves and support one another.
Explanation
The committee schedules approximately 10 home weekends per season for 5 teams. It handles
the scheduling and training of the referees and judges required for these events.
The committee handles match changes in consultation with coaches and opposing teams and
adjusts the schedule accordingly.
The Egerbos sports hall is rented through the municipality. The hall manager is also
kept informed of (changed) matches.
If members swap duties, this is updated in the schedule and in the computer system.
If members unexpectedly fail to show up, the committee ensures that a fine is imposed.
The committee registers teams twice a year. At the end of August and the end of December,
work reaches a peak. Otherwise, tasks can be scheduled freely. In the event of match changes, the
committee often has to act immediately. It is therefore important that the email inbox, which otherwise
receives very few messages, is checked weekly.
Everyone in our club volunteers their time. We work as part of a
friendly, dedicated, and enthusiastic team of board and committee members. We meet about four times
per season. Every year, there is a General Members’ Meeting where the
committee also presents its report. And of course, we wrap up the season with our volunteers
in a fun, social gathering.
At the start of the season—twice a year—each committee member can expect a one-time
commitment of about 3 hours, and during the season, an average of 2 hours of work per month.
Of course, we’ll help you get up to speed quickly, and as a team,
we’re there for each other. As a committee member, you don’t need any basketball knowledge.
However, it’s helpful if (some) committee members know the teams and members
and visit the Egerbos sports hall from time to time.
The committee currently consists of 2 members. They handle scheduling games
and training referees and scorekeepers. We’re looking for 2 volunteers for the remaining
tasks, though we’d be happy to discuss with you what suits you best:
Scheduling referees and scorekeepers
Communication regarding game-related matters
