Basketball Crusaders Venlo has been running for more than forty years thanks to the enthusiastic commitment of volunteers. Players who referee or keep score, parents who help at the scorer’s table or drive, members who provide training and/or coach teams, members with specific club responsibilities (games, referees, publicity, events, sponsorship, etc.), and many other people who help run this great club.
We are always looking for people who would like to contribute. Would you like to become part of our committed and enthusiastic team of trainers, board members, and committee members? For example, as a youth coach or as a member of the competition administration team?
(Youth)Trainers
You will assist with or lead the practices and/or games for our (youth) teams.
Basketball is a popular sport. We have a waiting list and are actively seeking (youth) coaches.
Are you, or do you know someone, with little to a lot of experience who would like to help out?
With a competitive youth team, or perhaps with recreational or senior players, as a head coach or an assistant?

Thanks to the efforts of our competition and referee committee, our members are able to play games.
In short
The committee is responsible for scheduling our home games and handling game schedule changes. It also organizes the training and (re)scheduling of referees and table officials. The committee plays an important role in communication with members, the municipality, and the Dutch Basketball Federation (NBB). Committee members divide tasks among themselves and support each other where needed.
More information
Each season, the committee schedules approximately ten home-game weekends. It manages the planning and training of referees and table officials and handles game schedule changes. The sports hall is rented through the municipality, and the venue manager is informed about the schedule. When members swap duties, this is processed administratively.
The committee registers teams twice a year. Work peaks occur at the end of August and the end of December. When schedules change, the committee often needs to respond quickly. Other tasks can generally be scheduled flexibly.
At the start of the competition, twice a year, each committee member spends about 3 hours on one-time tasks. During the season, the average workload is about 2 hours per month.
As a committee member, you do not need basketball knowledge. However, it is helpful if some committee members know the teams and members and occasionally visit Sports Hall Egerbos. Of course, we will help you become familiar with your role quickly.
The committee currently consists of two members. They are responsible for game scheduling and the training of referees and table officials. We are looking for two volunteers for the remaining tasks, and of course we are happy to discuss what suits you best:

- Communication regarding competition matters
