Safe sports environment
Basketball is emotion and passion. Basketball creates friendship and respect. And above all: basketball is fun to do and to watch! Venlo Sport Crusaders, together with the Dutch Basketball Federation (NBB), the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) and sports umbrella NOC*NSF, is committed to a sports environment where every individual feels safe and comfortable and can be himself. View more information at the page of the NBB.
This ambition has been translated and elaborated in the program "Towards a Safer Sports Climate" (VSK). The goal is to stimulate desired behavior and tackle undesired behavior in and around sports. Basketball Crusaders Venlo gladly joins this program. We have followed several workshops of the NBB and regularly pay attention to it in our newsletter. A number of things have been formalized. More about that below.
Behavioural rules
All members of Venlo Sport are members of the Dutch Basketball Association (NBB) and are therefore subject to the sexual harassment regulations of the NBB. These regulations include that the NBB for sexual harassment is affiliated with Institute Sportrechtspraak (ISR). This institute also has regulations which include the rules of conduct for coaches in sports. This means that these rules of conduct also apply to our members, as members of the NBB. Both rules can be found on the site of the NBB.
